Imperial Cities and Desert

Day 1 – MARRAKECH – AIT BENHADDOU – OUARZAZATE

Reception at the Marrakech airport or point indicated by the client and departure from Marrakech, crossing the High Atlas by the Tizi pass in Tichka (2,260m altitude). You will pass through interesting towns until you reach the Kasbah of Ait Benhaddou (declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1987), a fortified enclosure within a walled town that you will surely recognize, that this citadel has been the setting for such famous films as Gladiator, Sahara, Asterix and Obelix: Mission Cleopatra, among many others. Dinner and accommodation in a Kasbah in Ouarzazate.

Day 2 – OUARZAZATE – MERZOUGA DESERT

After breakfast, you will head towards the Skoura palm grove, passing through the Dades Valley , you will visit the Todra Gorges and from there, to the golden dunes of Erg Chebbi, where the excursion will begin before sunset. A real adventure!! They will change the 4×4 for the 8×8 (they are camels) that will take them to the heart of the desert. They will make a stop to watch the sunset. Upon arrival, an excellent and restorative tea will await you, as well as an exquisite Berber dinner, all enlivened by the music of the tam-tam (drums). You will enjoy a unique and unforgettable night, thanks to the large number of stars that populate the nights of the desert. They will sleep in Berber haimas.

Day 3 – MERZOUGA DESERT – MIDELT

They are already in the desert enjoying the magic of the dunes…! It will be worth getting up early to see the sunrise from the top of the dunes and return by dromedaries to the hostel to have breakfast and shower. After breakfast, farewell to the desert as you will begin your journey to the north of the country through the Ziz Valley taking advantage of the coolness of the blue fountain of Meski. Upon arrival, you will get to know the city of Midelt. Dinner and hotel accommodation in Midelt.

Day 4 – MIDELT – FES

After breakfast you will continue to Fez, passing through the towns of Ifrane and Azrou. During the journey you will cross the cedar forests, with ancient trees and you will be able to enjoy seeing the Barbary macaques or Gibraltar monkeys. They will arrive in Fez and that afternoon will be reserved for them to discover the oldest imperial city in Morocco, founded in the 8th century by Moulay Idriss II. You will visit the Medina of Fez el-Bali, one of the largest preserved medieval sites in the world, declared a World Heritage Site more than 30 years ago. You will see the Medersa Attarine, one of the most beautiful Koranic schools in Fez. Accommodation and hotel in Fez.

Día 5 – FEZ – VOLUBILIS – MEKNES – RABAT

After breakfast, you will leave Fez towards the Atlantic coast to visit Meknes, one of the most important imperial cities in Moroccan territory. There you can visit luxurious palaces and beautiful mosques as well as some of the most important souks in Morocco. After Meknes, you will be on your way to the Roman ruins of Volubilis, an authentic monument declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. After the visit they will go to Rabat. Dinner and accommodation in Rabat.

Día 6 – RABAT – CASABLANCA – MARRAKECH

After breakfast you will visit the most touristic places in Rabat, the Méchouar (the ramps and walls that surround the Royal Palace), the Kasbah of Oudayas and the magnificent mausoleum of Mohamed V and Hassan II. After the visit, they will go to eat in Casablanca, to visit in the afternoon the Great Mosque, the only one that can be visited in all of Morocco. Then they will leave towards Marrakech. Guided visit to Marrakech, which gave its name to Morocco.
